Q: How come Class of 83 had their reunion with Class of 84?
A: Class of 1983 had a late start in planning a reunion in 2003, and it was recommended by Great Reunions, the reunion planning service, to combine with Class of 84.

Q: Did Class of 83 screw up?
A: I've heard several negative comments about Class of 83 not getting it together to have their own reunion in 2003. These comments are completely uncalled for as classmates from 83 were just as instrumental in planning and organizing the reunion as those from 84. .

For the record: If it wasn't for Matt Monaghan pushing me (Dan Harley) about my class reunion plans when he did, 84 would have missed the window to have a 20-year reunion in 2004.

Also, Class of 83 had more classmates attend the reunion a year late than Class of 82 did on time. I'm pretty sure we had a lot more fun than they did too.

Long story short, it really doesn't matter because we all had fun.

Q: Are there plans for a 25 year reunion?
A: Most everyone that came to the 20-year reunion had a lot of fun and think that 10 years is too long to wait for another reunion. Therefore, it's very likely that there will be a 25 year reunion.

Q: Will we combine the classes in future reunions?
A: Most everyone thought combining the classes was an excellent idea. It would also be prudent for many reasons.

However, that decision will have to be up to whoever decides to organize future 83 reunions.

Q: Are there plans for get togethers before the next reunion?
A: There is talk about planning annual trips to vacations spots. The idea is to pick a date and place for everyone to vacation at. However, it's just talk so far.

Q: Can I get contact information for a classmate?
A: Matt Monaghan and I (Dan Harley) have master lists for both classes. Contact either of us, and we will provide information for specific classmates only.
[ back ]
Q: Can I get a copy of the classmate directory?
A: Because of privacy issues and several requests not to reveal personal contact information, the directories that Matt Monaghan and I have cannot be distributed. In the near future, I will provide an online directory on this site, but it will not reveal critical information.

The best way to obtain contact information on certain people is to contact Matt or myself.

Q: How come the reunion was so expensive to attend?
A: Saturday's dinner was $75/person with advanced reservations. That was the only item over a whole weekend of things to do that had a hefty price tag on it. Considering all the functions that was available for the weekend, $75 is very inexpensive.

Q: Can I get a copy of the pictures on CD?
A: That might be feasible in the near future. I want to see how many more pictures I receive so I can I burn a master copy.

Q: How come a reunion service was used?
A: In a nutshell, Great Reunions was a cheap insurance policy to make sure we would have a reunion.

One of Great Reunions' services is contacting classmates. That service alone is well worth having them onboard especially since Class of 1984's records are lost.

Great Reunions booked the banquet room, planned the meal and coordinated with the Ramada Inn for special room discounts. They handled the advance reservations and money collection at the door.

Great Reunions required no money up front which was a bigr positive for them considering both classes have a budget of $0 to put everything together.

That allowed the committee to concentrate on other things to make the reunion a fantastic event.

Q: Isn't the class president supposed to be responsible for planning the reunion?
A: No.

Q: What happened to all the money we raised when we were in high school?
A: It was assumed that whatever money our classes raised that wasn't spent on prom would go into an account to be used for funding our reunions. Well, that assumption is incorrect.

From what I understand, both classes had several thousand dollars left over after we graduated. That money has been disbursed a long time ago, and no one at the high school will give a straight answer to where it had gone. My best guess is the funds were transferred to ASB right after we graduated.

Key people from Apple Valley Unified School District are very upset with this practice and are looking into it further.

Q: How can I be the chairperson for the next reunion?
A: Be dumb enough to take the job.

Q: I can't register or get into the forum. What's wrong?
